This shell back Tenor ukulele was sold through The Ukulele Site. As a result I now have a great video of Kalei and Corey playing it. So exciting as these two are just amazing musicians.
As I was building this ukulele, knowing it was going to Hawaii to be sold I started to think of ideas inspired by that. One of them is using Koa for the shell, the other using Maple. The Curly Roasted Maple is from here in Canada and the Maple tree is very Canadian. Our flag and Maple syrup.
And of course Koa makes us instantly think of Hawaii.
The western red cedar top is a west coast wood along the western shores of both Canada and USA.
All these beautiful woods come together and create a harmony of sound and connection to this beautiful place and through music we create connection to one another.
